 ...... I did a bad thing.

I was in London with my dad today and I kind of went into the Aquatics Design Center.......and I kind of bought a Nic...... :look: and then....... I brought it back to Hull with me on the train....

Now the question, this fish seems healthy and is in float in my main tank. The store was stunning absolutely amazing and after a really good look round I would feel comfortable putting it in. But there is always the what if.

On the other hand my QT tank had some Geos in that I lost to white spot so I assume the tank is still not 100%

IMO I think I should just put them in the main tank and keep a watchful eye on them (not sure if its a he or a she) they are still in the bag but really hyper. Had a fine rake over them with an eye glass and 0 things visable and even after a long journey all fins etc in tact and they have been flaring at my HRP that was pecking the bag lols

Quick replies appreciated as I they are still in float now doing a slow change over because of the difference of london water and good old yorkshire proper water ( )

i would put theem into your main tank

NOTE : If they die you cant blame me!

if they seem lively and active i see the problem. but i dont see it.

but since you cant Quartine them then your out of luck.

the store seems nice.

did the fish look healthy etc? where any fish in the tank dead/ill?

if so Quartine.

if not I'd take the risk and put them into the main tank

No dead fish in the block of tanks saw one dead fish in the whole store, amazing staff. Honestly the store is just mind blowing

I think Im going to take the risk (dont worry I wont blame you) and do the main tank they really are a spritly little thing.

Im just most worried about the different waters. But they seem okay with things so far.

If you feel confident with the store then i would add them into your main tank :)

I must confess i have never qt any fish, mainly i haven't the room, but i tend to buy what looks like good healthy stock and keep fingers crossed.:)

congrats! if i'm honest you will be lucky if you have a lil girl, as they generally are more colourful and slightly smaller than males. but great fish anyway. also i never qt my fish i just hit and hope.

Yep.

Same No Room + Time for it.

I Take the risk and Hopefully BAM!

They live or Die.

Never Quartined and proberly never will.

If the store looks trusting.

Go for it!

:)

also this 1 dead fish? what was it?

Never owned a QT tank and I actually have never really acclimated anything like your supposed to eaither. Never had a disease outbreak. Also, all shops will have a dead fish. Unless it's a whole tank wiped out, I'd trust the store.

Yep.. all Fish shops Will have a dead fish.
BUT Would'nt most stores like Take out the dead fish so they dont get a bad rep?

The worst thing that will happen is you might get ich in a week or so. I have used the Qt tank and I have not. My lf are known to have ich. So if you feel good about it just add her. You might ich you might not see what happens.

they are in now, just noticed some specs in the fins so thinking it might be a male. Ah well :)

but now ive just noticed some blue cheeks........

what kind of fish is it? and i never QT fish and ive only got ich once and Neon Tetra Disease once but i got rid of both quite fast

Its a Nicaraguan Cichlid :) Males and females are quite different just let them settle in and then there will be pics :)
