Impulse Buy - Do I Qt Or Not Qt?

Absolute #101## take!!!! Just been photographing them and my Aequidens Diadema has white spot

I cant believe it actually got into the tank the only way it could have got in is when I got the geos their bag was floating in the tank for a few moments. On the same day I planned to take back my male HRP but I brought him back and he was in float for a while in the geos store tank so that obvs had whitespot in. I cant believe how easy it has been transferred!!! Man that is 2 of my favorite LFS off my list now

Started to treat my tank with the waterlife stuff upped the airation from my filter outlet and temp has gone up. Think I have enough dose for my main tank for today and tomorrow but I can easy get some more of the meds I need tomorrow.

Man I really really hope this is the last bump in my tank for a while.

i ead this and my face went from  to  and yep.. parasites travel fast :/ if its nto so bad. your tank could hold out...

i brought 4 mollies. all of them where hit bad with ick.

all died within a week.

thats why i hate black mollies now :sly:

but yes.. white spot / ick etc travel fast...

Hope your tank pulls through. :good:

Its ridiculous it really is I cant believe it came off the bag. This really is the very very last straw if I ever so much as see white spot in any store I am never setting foot in there again.

Looks like I am back to my full superstitions about whitespot as well, if you see any mention of it you will get it. I watched American Dad where they get white spot (even the humans ) and day after bam white spot and now Im in this mess 2 weeks later.

amazing how fast parasites can invade your tank..

figures corssed / touch wood i wont get a big infection.

when i brought my mollies they began developing white stuff around there mouths.
then the first one was dieing.. ( on he's last straws ) so i put him out of his misery.

then the other 3 followed on.

i dont believe how fast it killed them :/

The parasite is at its best to infest fish when it is at the free swimming stage. That is also the only stage that your medication can actually kill. That is the reason that any reputable medication tells you to continue to treat after all signs of the disease are gone. Those extra few days are needed to kill the last of the parasites so that you don't get a new infestation. I have started to use only the salt treatment these days and have not lost any fish to ich since I changed my ways. The copper involved in things like a malachite green treatment are just more risk than I like to take with my fish. There is a link to a proper discussion of ich in my signature area called "ich info".
