I am very excited that I am going to be breeding these beauties!!  I hope that they simply love each other and I am successful....I just love the deep yellow color on the female.....I have been trying to learn to "resize" my photo's, I don't know why all my photos are SO HUGE!!  But finally got these done.........I will keep you posted on my progress and results if you would like.....

Oh gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!
Good luck :) Make sure you write a breeding journal!

Oh, they're gorgeous!

I'm not really a betta lover, but the quality of those just shines out.

Best of luck with the breeding :D

We would love progress reports, I can assure you :D

I am not a huge fan of Bettas normally but these are just simply stunning!

if they breed succesfully will you be shipping the offspring?

I'd love to buy one of the males if you're successful! o.o

You know your breeding stock is good when you've got people queuing for their offspring, BettaBarbara!

I'm assuming you've bred before? If you have, I'm sure all of us betta enthusiasts would love to see fish you've bred (because several of us, myself included, may want to purchase fish).

Yes, I have bred before.....I recently relocated from NY to Florida and I am re-starting my "hobby" here, with more room and time.....I am getting more serious with the breeding and will def. be selling fish.........I didn't even know this whole world of Betta was on the internet!  It's wonderful to "meet" other people with the same interest. Some of my friends and family just think I'm a crazy fish tank lady....lol.....and when they hear what I spend on imported pairs they really think I'm crazy. I wanted to start my breeding with good stock this time. I also have a gorgeous pair of platinum white siblings, I love the whites, yellows and blues esp. I have a pretty blue double tail halfmoon that I bred and still have now........I was also trying to get a copper/plum color and never truly got it, though I do have one male that I was sorta of happy with, still have him. On another note, I had to separate my plat. white female from the other females yesterday....she is very aggressive...sometimes the imported females are aggressive but this one has some personality! She was very upset with the divider and let me know it...lol

Thank you!  That is why I wanted to start with good stock....I have invested so much money and time in my new set up and I'm far from done....(are we ever done?) I have always wanted to try my hand at breeding yellows, I just love them! It's hard to find a deep yellow female and was thrilled when I got her.

Beautiful! I hope you create a journal like the others have recommended. I'd like to see their offspring :)

Do you know anything about the Elephant Ears Bettas. I just love them.

They also call them "dumbo" ears, they have large pectoral fins...I see them on halfmoons and halfmoon plakats mostly....I believe they were originally a deformity that breeders ending up cultivating, if I recall correctly. I think they are pretty....I don't know much about them genetically for breeding purposes....I do know someone told me never to breed a male and female dumbo ears together as it would result in further deformities, but I haven't read that myself yet...but yes they are very different looking!
