Im Back!

hey folks, i arrived home last night after a week away on vacation to find all of my bettas alive and some what well, they are a little pale from the lack of food and water changes but after throwing them some pellets they purked right up. a couple of them are acting pretty odd thogh, they look very pale, and kind of lay around, this is un useral for these particular fish and im worried that they are shocked from the sudden buffet of food i just gave them, can they get sick if they eat too much after being starved?

Could... I'd hold off on feeding them a full meal for a day or two. Try giving them some pea just for good measure. I'm so happy all of them are well at least!! How was the vacation?

EDIT: Where are you in Wisconsin?! I totally didn't realize we had another Wisconsinite here!! That makes 4!!

Yes, you need to take it slow. When I came home lst week my bettas got a feast of two pellets, much to their disappointment. On day three I fed one girl a little heavy by accident and she floated at the top on her side for the rest of the day. She's fine now but yes, too much food too quickly can hurt them.

I remember once a long time ago I was watching a show with a soldier during war time. He found a little kid hiding under some debris, the kid was starving so the soldier gave it a huge candy bar he had stashed in his pocket and it killed the kid

yea i knew that kind of think can happen to people but i wasn't sure about fish, they seem fine thogh. vacation was great, got to see some cousins i hadn't seen in a couple years
