sorry to hear that 
i feel really bad at the moment too. yesterday i was catching my scissortail rasboras (i had to take them back to the aquarium shop coz my tank was overstocked) and i could only find 8 of them (i had 9). so i called my mum to help me find the other one as i thought it was still in the tank but only hiding. i them looked on the floor under the tank stand and there is was. dead
it must have jumped out of the tank to get away from the net and i didnt notice. i feel terrible
