If Only I Had Some Jelly

aahhh wow cool fish, i thought he was loads bigger until i saw him next to your hand. bless cute little bugger!! guessing he's gonna get bigger though?

and just for you yanks, don't worry about missing the jelly reference, i didn't get it until someone posted the pic. doh!

Max length is 103cm (40") but I would be surprised to see him get past 3 feet to be honest.

And in more good news, I picked up a slightly smaller one today, so I have another fish to train to eat my finger...

Well, the FTS are not pretty as there is no hood and the stand is yet to have any cladding on it:

And here are some shots of the new eel. First off a couple of him floating in the bag to temp match:

And a couple of him hanging out with his far larger tank mate.

Awww...they've bonded!

Now they're plotting on how to drag you into the tank and eat you!

Do you have a lid on the tank??? I wouldn't like one of them to land on my pillow in the night

They look beautiful though :good:

There's a condensation tray over the top, but there is little risk of them escaping as the water level is low to prevent water flowing over the weir in the back corner.

Great eels there. But i agree, i wouldn't want that to be the first thing i saw when i woke up in the morning! Percula Ocellaris (spelling?) maybe, or perhaps a nice cow or boxfish. Got a shock when i saw one peering out of a tube in my local marine shop never mind when i've just woken up!

Ahhh, we do wake up to Percs as well. They are in the reef tank at the other end of the bedroom currently in a cube to be upgraded to a 100 gallon in the next few weeks.

Well, the little one is eating and coming out a little bit more now, so I thought I might throw a couple of pics up:

And one with the larger eel to show size difference. There is not much in the length of the eels, but the original one is far fatter.

And finally, as I was taking photos of it, a fairly groovy shot from the soon to be defunct reef tank:

That "monstrous beast" is nothing more than a saffron goby(Gobiodon citrinus).

Not quite the predatory beast that I usually go for, though the Mrs picked it for the reef, so I had little choice in the matter.

That still is the biggest citrinus Ive ever seen though, LOL. In comparison, youve still got an oddball!
