If A Topic Or Thread Is Removed, Is The Owner Told Why?

If it was the one asking people what jobs they trained for and what jobs they do now, this was removed because it was a 'general chat' topic and there is no 'general chat' section on this board.

I thought it was a really interesting thread - and unlikely to cause any problems in the way that general chat can. I was just looking for it too - to catch up on the new entries.

In what way is asking what job you do, or trained for, more "general chat" than asking how old you are. The thread about age has been on here for months?

maybe the thread title should be rephrased as: what job are you in and how it relates to fish?
then you might get away with it.

I entirely agree, however we cannot have one rule for some threads and another for others.
If we did that we may as well have a general chat section where a moderator decides "what will cause conflict and what will not" and that in itself would cause conflict.

No general chat outside of the subjects in the hobbies section.
