I was wondering what temperature is best for cory cats. I have them with a betta and was wondering if I should use the heater or not. I have it now at 70 degrees... is that too low?
The proper temperature for corys depends on the species you have. Some like cooler temperatures, while some like it much warmer. Since they all have a range of temperatures they are comfortable at, I'm sure you will have no problems with the betta.
If you mean 70 degrees F., it's a bit on the low side for a betta, and all corys will be fine in warmer water.
What kind of corys do you have?
EDIT: I just read your other thread and see that you have C.aeneus. They are excellent companions for your betta and will thrive at a temperature of around 76 degrees F., which is a good temperature for your betta as well.
While corys don't mind temperature fluctuations, bettas do, so I suggest that you add a heater to their tank. If you will have air conditioning in the summer, it will be especially needed.
