This fish was in the South American tank along with angels and discus at the aquarium in Spring Field, MO.
They almost look twisted, like the bottom jaw broke and was forced to heal bent backwards.Maybe just old? Hard to say. Maybe a blurry pic, but the nose/mouth look wrong somehow...

Yes. At the flagship store for the Bass Pro Shop. Was this fish on display at Wonders of Wildlife?
Yes. The photo picked up blues that were not there to the eye.Hyphessobrycon colombianus, the Colombia tetra, in the Springfield MO morph. The head and jaw are quite deformed, and the fish looks overall battered. Not battered in a fish and chips way - it looks kind of chewed up.
It's a fish best kept in larger groups as they can be a bit nippy if kept in tiny groups or alone. They seem peaceful in large groups. They get around 6 cm, so that has to be taken into consideration.
The colours are off in that photo. It's a classic shot of a fish no one should buy. The facial deformity could be from a number of things other than simple injury, none of which can be treated, the colour is atypical...
I’m glad we visited. I wasn’t expecting much but ended up overwhelmed with how terrific it was.Wonders of Wildlife is amazing. I wrote venue descriptions and a Pitch Book for them back in early 2000's. You might contact them and ask specifically about that fish. Wonders of Wildlife is a world class facility.
