First plant looks like it might be Bacopa.

Bacopa, yeah, that's what I'm thinking, too.

So the second plant... I ran into last night in the reptile section of another lfs. It was NOT in water and I was told it's simply not an aquarium plant! In fact, I realized as I found a little pot for it in my kitchen that I already have two more albeit bigger of the same thing in pots in my apartment. No wonder I couldn't find it in any of the data bases...
