I would say an Apistogramma sp steel blue but i could be wrong.

Thats what I was going to say as well but not 100% how to ID them.

I got it as a steel blue but does it look a bit yellow?

I was looking at pictures and most seem to have a big spot by the tail like this one and yellow fins some with blue specks on which also fits this so if its not them its something every similar.

If thats what you brought it as i would say it is then. Have you only just got it? it looks quite stressed out so it might just be a little off colour until it settles in.

its been in here for 2 weeks i had another which was bright blue but died of swimbladder disease found him floating

How big is it? Theres not really much info on them but from what ive seen the females dont have the gill markings or if they do there a lot fainter.

I would say Apistogramma sp. Steel Blue too (I'm not very knowledgeable on American cichlids at all, but I do remember a cichlid looking very similar at Aquajardin ~2 years ago). If I'm not mistaken, the females are more yellow?

I would say that was yellow, would any of you? the other steel blue i had was this colour

Compared to that it definitely looks female but i dont know enough about them to say for sure.

Having just googled Apistogramma sp. steel blue, I came across a link that mentioned Steve Chester (ste12000 on this forum and several others) having kept this species and no doubt breeding them, which might help you make an informed decision.

Goat its me from BCA forum, ive posted on there no sign of ste yet but got some info from Andrew. To be honest its a waist of time you get more advice from TFF!!!
