No, I accused BAE of acting like a child, technically I am right looking at his profile.

I was only ever looking for proof that nobody seems to be able to supply, solid or not.

You can't just come into a thread and quote a number that you heard from your mate down the pub/school/creche and expect to not get pulled up on it.

My skills as a fishkeeper were then questioned, that's out of line.

In the absence of any evidence to the contrary, I would expect commons in the wild to reach a 13/14 inches (SL)

Just to illiterate I am not his child

Quoted for posterity, there is more irony in this post than I know what to do with

you never accused him of acting like a child, you accused him of being one.

I can come into a thread like this and say what i thought at the time to be right. the fact that you have corrected me is irrelivant.

In any case warning some one a fish can hit 6-8 more inches when it acually can, doest really make much difference in terms of warning the op that his fish will grow to be big animal when you consider the size it will reach.

Its good you have put us all right but suggesting that i should not post my view that i thought to be true (when im only trying to help) isnt really fair.

you make it sound like i made a great statement to the world saying your all wrong and i know for a fact that the common plec can grow x long.

Im not posting in this thread any more because i think this thread has run its course and the op has had his question answered even though that was never concern

also laughing at someone younger than you and possibly less educated than you isnt something to be proud of

My stepdad's mom had a 300 gallon tank, with assorted cichlids and a common. Had the common for about 18 years. Died at 17 inches.

And Lloyd, beating a dead horse is doing nothing to ID the OPs plecos.

That being said, I am thinking that the OPs pictures are of common plecs. They look just like my 10 inch common.

 not gonna edit that as its to funny

I like my iPad I hate autocorrect

I meant reiterate

Lol
