can any1 tell me wht type of acara she is? she was labled "wild acara" in the shop

I would bet A. pulcher - Blue Acara. However, it does look rather young and so you might need to wait for more of its colors to come in until you can be sure.

I presume they just had the one? Surprised it wasn't labeled as a Green Terror or such.

yes she was the only one, she is fairly large tho, i wudn't think she was that young

About how many inches?

It's hard to tell in the photo. What specific color is it showing?

shes bout 6"

her colouring is yellow, white, grey and black

It does look like an Aquidens, perhaps Aequidens metae, though it seems not to have the characteristic black blotch halfway along the flank.

There are several species doing the rounds in UK fish shops at the moment, including Aequidens diadema and Aequidens metae, besides the usually blue acara and green terror.

I think it might be Aequidens portalegrensis - the port acara its got the same head shape right eye colouring and the bright edges on the ventral fins look the same. It might be a bit stressed due to the other tank mates like the pike (no offense) so it might be a bit washed out.

i wudnt think so, the pike is more scared of her! they all get along and have their different "authorities"!
