Ian's 80Cm (Hc Gone, Moss Added)

@ Caz, it's got good flow around it and i'm also dosing ADA ECA, which IMO has helped keep it red.
Maybe I'll try it again sometime, give it a more prominent tank position and pay more attention to ferts! Will keep an eye on how yours does :good:

Good to see that the HC has started to kick into gear mate, the gouramis look great. But so would those lovely rams of yours ;)

LP
Ooh yes they would! Again with the yellow... ;)

I'll have a nice little early Xmas present for you in a month or so time Ian ;) You'll like it...uber cool.

Tanks coming on and looking good. You have way more patience than me with the light. I just whack it straight on @ 9 hours from the start ;)

what ya got???? tell me tell me!

aahhhh i think i know. :good:

Its just getting better and better. Glad to see the hc is taking off.i really like those yellow gouramis. Green, yellow and red its a good combination. What i like the most is how healthy all the plants look and no diatoms.i have them all over the place.

thank you Aquamaniac!

I have removed the remaining HC, it just wasn't doing. It melted again and came back to nothing. I don't know what to blame...light, RO water??!!

anyway a few days ago, i have added some xmas moss as a carpet. I have also moved the Ranunculus from the back and placed more around the rock. Blyxa added accross the back, which i think looks better. Am pleased with the A Rosaefolia Mini, it's keeping its colour and starting to grow well.

thanks Stu

a lot easier to look after, the corner was a nightmare for maintenance as it was so tall. I much prefer the tank i have now. :good:

Sorry to hear about the HC Ian. It will be interesting to see how mine goes on now :D

Keep us posted on the moss carpet i hope it takes as it will look great with your layout.

Shame about the HC mate, still think it needed more time but hey i do love a moss carpet ;)... be interesting to see how yours does with co2 and my little carpet does with just carbon.

Anyways, still looks great mate and the blyxa will look superb :good:

Btw the way Ian, what did you tie the moss to?... little pieces of slate or something?

If you'd had seen the state of the HC, you would have ripped it out as well lol. Was having a chat with Mark Evans the other day and we were talking about moss's. He's had the best moss when he's neglected it. From my experience, i struggle with moss when it's in direct high flow. Very strange

Don't tell anyone Jake, but i treated myself to some ADA riccia stones.

Looks tonnes better! Well done!

Thanks Minnt!

Blyxa looks great Ian! I've been looking at it for the centre of mine... is it japonica?
Thanks Caz
Yes, it's Japonica, this was just out of 2 pots from TGM. It's relatively cheap as well.
