Update 26/01/12

Temp now at 80, Ammonia Still 4ppm, checked PH and its 7.8.

Is the PH level ok or should i try and increase, if so, how best to increase the PH ?

24.01.12 - Ammonia 4, Temp 78 - Cloudyness totally cleared up after putting in playsand

Optimum ph is 8-8.4. But your ph is fine. If it was me I would leave alone.
Later on in the cycle when your nitrates get high it may crash so just keep monitoring once your ammonia drops. At that stage you can do a water change or add bicarbonate of soda.

Looking for ideas's folks,

What is the general option on what community sits well with Blue Acara ? Also what would you suggest from a plant wise ?

Thankfully a super kind member from the forum donated some filter media and four blue acara.
Before adding the media i checked parameters.

Ammonia - 2
PH - 8
NitrAte - 4
NitRite - 4
Temp 80

TAP Water - 7.7PH, Ammonia 0, NitrAte 0, NitRite 0.

Added matured media and did a 50% water change. Ammonia 1, NitRate 2, Nitrite 2, PH 7.7, Temp 78
