i want another betta but my mum says NO!

I'm a mum with 3 quite grown up boys. They can usually find a way to get around me when they want something.
Don't buy the tank until she agress though, I'm sure you will persuade her and you will enjoy it much more if she is happy for you to have it.

Back before I broke my mother's will and she just completely gave up on the fish issue, I'd sneak tanks in without even mentioning I had wanted a new one... eventually it got to the point where she couldn't tell what was new and what I already had

hahahaha i have 2 10 Gs and 1 55 G, i know i dont keep bettas but....i make it look good enough so it will make the living room prettier and the cute fishes which everyone likes + they are kinda relaxing to watch after dinner

I snuck so many tanks into my mom's house it wasn't funny. I snuck in my 29 gallon. Plus tons of smaller tanks. She finally gave up on the issue.

well, if you have a job and you are making money, its your money. any other money is still your parents. if your parents wont let you buy one, why dont you just breed them?

Edit: if you breed them, you can sell the extras, and you can tell your parents you are making a profit

I just sneak them in and then my mom will say. "oh that's a cute fish, when did you get him", and i'll say "oh I've had him for ages..... They really don't care much, b/c they know it is a winless battle. I work and pay for everyone of my fishes needs, and they know I take good care of them. Now if my tanks were smelly, dirty, and unsightly I think there would be an issue..... I'd say ask her, chances are she'll say it's ok, since you have went to so much trouble in building places for them.
And did I see someone say she may think it is to cluttered for one more?

It is never to cluttered for JUST one more!! And those pics don't even do my room justice.... There are still a few tanks missing in those..... My parents haven't kicked me out yet, so I'm sure you can fit a couple more in!!

I just ran into the same problem as you..... I accidently ran into wuv's adoption thread, planned on getting one, and I am now going to be the proud owner of 4!! I told my mom about 3, since they are girls and can go together, but explaining the boy will be kinda hard, as my mom and dad refer to them as "the stupid fish that won't go in with anything else" thus creating their theory that my betta boys are the cause for my 9 tanks/cluttere mess~

Tell your mom that your betta addiction is good because you could be addicted to worser things such as drugs. Thats what my parents tell people when they ask how come they let me have so many tanks... LoL
