I think my fish are about to be dead

Hm yeah that might be it. However, now the problem is how the fish. I recommend you do a water change and add the correct amount of antichlorinator, if none at all due to the abundance of it in the main tank. Remember that anti chlorinator doesn't remove chlorine, it just binds to it and makes it safe for aquatic life.

Now, how big is the tank? Stocking? The nitrates are still very concerning.
30 gallon tall
I have 8 albino corydoras
4 cherry barbs
5 white skirt tetras
2 thick lipped gourami

I feel the white skirt tetras should be in a bigger tank and have more friends, but that itself isn't overstocked. When was the last time you did a water change and are there any plants in the tank?

Yes turn off the lights if it's night time.

I'm sorry I can't help you I am chemical free. There will be someone here that knows about this stuff.

Alright they seem to have stopped going to the top to breath I don’t see any dead fish. Two died yesterday. Lesson learned I guess
