You should do a very large water change...nearly 100% --- to remove nitrates. You want nitrates to be 10 or less before adding fish. Hope it works out for you (finally).

Buy spirulina tablets from a health food store and use those for algae eating fish. We did it for yrs in the shop. It's a lot cheaper than buying special spirulina based fish foods.Unless there is a pellet my lps sells that has spiriluna
Prime time aquatics said: "There is no fish that "only" eats live or freezed foods. Just keep feeding them the dry foods and eventually they will be hungry enough to try some." It makes sense... The first few weeks I will only feed dry foods because I dont want to deal with frozen stuff just yet... I do want it, but imma wait a week or so.Buy spirulina tablets from a health food store and use those for algae eating fish. We did it for yrs in the shop. Peacock gudgeons don't normally take dry food (flake or pellet). They normally take live or frozen foods. You can try them on dry foods but they might go hungry.
Won't hurt anything...just keep cleaning to a minimum, glass onlyOut of curiosity, should I clean the aquarium glass before adding fish? I haven't done it yet since getting the tank.
Ok. When I brought it up to my mom she said: "You should have thought about that BEFORE ordering the fish" .... I will try to get to it but if I cant clean the glass, could it be deadly for the fish?Won't hurt anything...just keep cleaning to a minimum, glass only
No...the fish will be fine with dirty glass...it's just biofilm and/or algaeOk. When I brought it up to my mom she said: "You should have thought about that BEFORE ordering the fish" .... I will try to get to it but if I cant clean the glass, could it be deadly for the fish?

Looks cool, but, for some reason this product isnt available much in the US. I saw it on eBay...Scrape the glass clean just before doing the big water change so you vacuum up any bits it leaves in the water.
I recently bought one of these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000S5JMXI/?tag=
and it removed everything, even traces of nerite eggs.
Oh tetra is very much available in the U.S... Just not that product from them I guess. That's interesting, I would have expected Tetra products to be available in the US
