Hi

I need to put a CAE out of his misery because my bloody filter has chewed him up and he's pretty much dead - I don't have any clove oil, is there any other way to 'put them to sleep'???

Hit him on the head with a hammer, or vodka but not nice, or internal bacteria med with a large overdose.Sorry.

No - I don't want anything like hitting him - I couldn't being myself to do it, that's why the clove oil appeals to me because they just fall to sleep...

put him in a bag with some tank water and put him in the freezer

If I couldnt get clove oil, a short sharp bang to the head with something hard will bring it to an abrupt end, or decapitation. They're quite grim methods, but without clove oil they're probably the best options IME.

No, you need an overdose of an aenesthetic if you don't go with hitting.

I would assume Clove oil is the only oil possible to kill fish with humanely, else people would just use cooking oil wouldn't they?
