Well I was jsut wondering if there was an algea eating fish out there that would eat alge off plant leafs themselves as well as off glass. this algea eater must be friendly towards cories and not eat their food. :/

well the only friendly one that i know that shoals in groups are otto's.only small great community fish and best in groups of 5 plus imo. :D

and they will be friendly to cories and eat algea off the leaves? I had an algea eater before and their wuld be algea in the tank but it died of starvation.. :/

also.. how many gallons per fish? kind of gettign bogged down with cleaning fish haha.. 12 cories and soon to be 6 ottos then.. I still want to add 20-30 tetra's 2 ram pair's and 2 angle pairs. :/ might have to down grade to one angle pair.

Adding ottos to your stocking plan won't matter much as they are small and don't produce much waste, but how many gallons does your tank hold?

i would go for a bristlenose because they eat algea like crazy but ottos do create alot of waste for how big they are.
:D

What about siamese algae eaters (flying fox), unlike the chinese variant these are friendly, other wise a violet or bristlenose pleco
i dont think siamese algea eaters are flying foxes are they?

they will indeed but watch the size some plecs grow big eg common plecs ive seen over 12" and i aint bin at it long!

at the LFS they have a pleco that is about 15 inches long.. it is one ugly thing.. :/ albino.. eww..

which would be best? I donlt really want something that will eat the cories food or the cories themselves instead of the algea on plants and the tank. but I I don't know if i want an otto.. what if it is not effectent enough?

well right now i have 2 cories and 2 plecos. i have 0 algae in my tank.. they seem to do well! I actually have never seen agae in my tank so maybe my plecos aren't the ones keeping it clean.. lol.. maybe it just doesn't get algae.. but whatever.. i'm probably getting confusing now.. >.< but plecos do eat the food that falls to the floor of the tank. so if you got a pleco he/she would probably eat your cories' food.. I can't really think of an agae eater that doesn't eat off of the bottom... : / okay sorry.. this is probably totally confusing post.... but its late so.. :/ lol

SAE aren't flying foxes.

well in america SAE and flying foxes are one in the same in my experience. SAE gets the aka flying fox from darting from time to time so fast its like a flash and they are on the other side of the tank.
