Well the lighting unit went on my Rio I so I had ago at making a lid with lights.

This is all I used

hah, that is a great idea! very smart, where did you get those moon lights from??

Its better than the one that comes on them the lighting is good I think as its not a planted tank. I mite look for a second hand starter for the other light tube.
 
That's fab - I came here for lid inspiration for a lidless inherited tank and could very easily do something very similar to this with what I already have! :good:

Iv now added more sticky back plastic. A thick layer of aquarium safe silicone to form a bump and to stop water getting under the stick back plastic and lifting it.

To finish the job Iv added a rubber window seal to stop the light coming through the top of the tank and lid and painted it all.
