One of my cats spilled a fish flakes canister. She was up on the shelf seeing what I was feeding them. I looked at the pile of flakes on the floor and scooped them into a pile, to retrieve later via dustpan and broom, as my fish were spazzing over not having had breakfast yet. The next thing I hear is this licking sound and my dog is avidly cleaning up all the flakes...she even searched for more.

Now I know she is part black lab and hence a water dog, but I think that's taking things abit TOO far?!? So the question is, do any of YOUR other pets eat fish food too?

I haven't given any fish food to my dog...but i wouldn't be surpised at all if he liked it! lol Most dogs will eat just about anything...labs especially! The fact that fishfood is very smelly probably makes it all the more appealing :D

My cay is always trying to get into my big jar of JMC catfish pellets. The smell drives him crazy!

pickle (my budgie) goes nuts when i feed the fish
as i open the canisters he grips the lid and "helps" my open it
then he runs in circles around the rim as if he is in need of some ridalin (sp?)
he also sticks his head in the container and tries to eat the different foods
i keep telling him "NO, BAD BIRD!"
and he says in a screatchy cheaky voice "i love you pickle, good booooooy"

i know he probably doesn't understand what he is saying but its just too funny

My dog dances around looking for spare flakes, and barks at his food bowl when I feed the fish. I guess he figures if they are getting fed, he should too!

My friend's cats adore fish food.

When I go to feed the fish (I look after her tank...) the cats start climbing up my jeans to get to the fish food in my hand and I have to put a bit on the floor to keep them occupied.

One night some me and some friends were staying at her house. Two of us had gone to sleep, so to punish them for being boring we sprinkled fish food on their sleeping faces and the cat immediately ran to lick it off. They woke up being slobbered on by a cat and were not amused, but it was the funniest thing I have ever seen.

my greedy dog stole my fish food today!!!! she ate half to tub!!!! greedy moo bean!! :sly:

My aformentioend friend's cats also drink out the tank  but ignore the fish. we think they like the dechlorinated water :D

My cat got jealous of the fish and trashed their food cupboard - ignored the flakes but ate half a pack of algae wafers....Cat with stringy poo.... you don't wanna experience it, believe me!! lol

My 21 month old baby boy loves Tetra Prima pellets

I caught him licking his finger and putting it into the tub this afternoon and i've also caught him eating algae wafers before :/

all my animals share food.

our rabit eats cat food, as does our dogs
our cat eats dog food.
the bird drinks tea, coffee, cordial.
the cats eat rabit food.

Most cat's like running water. One of mine drinks from one tank, but not the other. He also loves Tetra Tropical fish flakes. The other cat is not interested in fish food. Only cat food and my food ;) She also does not drink from the tank. And nor is she interested in the fish. My other cat can spend hours "chasing" the fish.
