I know this is a very broad question but could you give me stocking lists of malawis that could go in a 4x3x2?

I can't really tell you what I like as I have no idea of the names, I know I like yellow labs.
I love frontosas and buttikoferis.

Indeed - Very Broard!

Perhaps help out by telling us if you want several large specemins, or a heavily stocked community? Do you want lots of colour, or heaps of behaviour...

I assume the measurements given were in feet?

Whats your home tap water like in terms of water hardness and PH. Deprnding on this either African or American cichlids may be more suitable..

Fish with lots of color and interesting to watch, yes the measurements are in feet.
Well in London the pH is naturally high around 8.5 and the water is very hard.
I use peat in most of my filters for my other fish.

Get a species only or locale only set-up they look class :good:

Id go for a locale set-up mate with a 4x3x2, some species from likoma area or jalo reef, Nkhata bay, lions cove etc.. so many to choose from, depends on what fish you can get hold of to. Any species you particularly like?

No idea what I like lol, I like the only ones I know of, yellow labs, buttis, frontosa, but those fish you mentioned are beautiful!

I wouldnt keep frontosas with malawis, theyre from tanganyika and tbh they get a bit big for a 4ft tank.
If you wanted species only and you want lots of colour id go for one that displays sexual dimorphism. Like the psuedotropheu saulosi.
Also id agree with Malawi Mad, locale only aquariums are true to life and make brilliant show tanks! The jalo reef is my favourite, you've only got to look as far as cynotilapia afra to see why.
Seeing as youre new to malawi id like to stress how important it is to try and find quality fish, there is a terrible amount of hybrids out there and i wouldnt reccomend buying anything unless you know exactly what it is.
If you need any other help with your tank just post on this thread.

Glad you've chosen africans :D very rewarding fish!
