I have to have this swordie!

I just stopped by Petsmart while I was grocery shopping and I couldn't believe that a fish I wanted 3 weeks ago is still there! It's the biggest female pineapple swordie I've ever seen. She's like double the size of any of my female swordies and friendly as can be. I fell in love with her 3 weeks ago but didn't let myself buy her because I haven't had any luck with any of the pineapples I've gotten from Petsmart. But now, I'm figuring if she's made it 3 weeks at Petsmart and still looks healthy and happy, maybe she'll do OK here. Now I just have to convince my BF to loan me $3.00 so I can go get her. Wish me luck - he doesn't support my fish obsession!

Woohoo! It worked, and not only did he give me the $3.00 for the pineapple girl, he gave me enough to stop at Dairy Queen on the way home for Blizzards. I threw dinner in the oven and ran back over to Petsmart and Dairy Queen while it was cooking. I will be so much happier when I start working again! (Which hopefully will be Feb 20th as I just got a job offer this afternoon! Yeah!)

SO she has been temporarily named Moosie (until I can think of something more appropriate - need Hawaiin name suggestions!). She's happily cruising around now checking out her new digs.

I think you should name her Leah...in hawaii they make leis.....you wanted something hawaiian and leah kinda sounds like lei....

Congrats on the pineapple ...I just love that breed of swordtail ....I have a pregnant female...and she is so happy....I think she enjoys being a mom ....They are so fun!

Lookie at what I found today!

I got this gorgeous darling and a red neon lyretail female as well! The red neon is still extremely shy so I'm letting her settle in before taking any pictures of her. She was acting a little panicked so I don't want to stress her even more.

My BF had hernia surgery today so I was at the hospital all day with him, I had a couple of hours to kill while he was in the recovery room so I went to the LFS that was just a couple blocks away. I wasn't really expecting to find anything but I thought I'd kill time looking through their rocks. I couldn't believe it, they hadn't even gotten them out of the shipping bag when I went in. I told the girl there, please don't sell the black female to anyone I'll be back in an hour!. She promised to hold her until closing time and as soon as the BF was loaded into my truck I went back and got her. He was still pretty out of it from the anesthesia so he didn't say anything, but I'm sure I'll here about it tomorrow. He he he - teach him to hand me his wallet before having surgery!

Theres a young swordtail male at my lfs...he's mostly black but has some little pataches of orange on him. I so want him but dont have the room for him I'm dreaming of getting a 55 gallon so I can have the platies and swordies I already have but to be able to add a couple more as well as keep some of my fry )

Convincing the boyfriend is another thing though
