I Half-saved A Betta

I went to Wal*mart today. And checked out the bettas, handsome boys and girls all pretty healthy They had a little bowl on display and there was a vt in there. Walked back a few mins later and noticed there was something else in that bowl. A girl betta I was like OMG! Then ran off and got my Dad told him what was hapening and explained that 'breeding bettas was very different then breeding guppies. You don't just place them together like guppies and watch them grow it is much more complicated.' So he got the one of the manegers and I told her what I had found. She was really nice to me and seperated them. She went around looking around for the guy in charge of the fish department to tell him to make sure it didn't happen again.

The girl was really shredded up and she would need alot of TLC. I told my dad that she needed care that wal*mart couldn't provide and he just said "Lets go find your mom". He wouldn't let me take her home to treat her for all the damage that had been done. I am so upset and feel awful that I couldn't help her further.

The male was fine btw.

I went to Wal-Mart today and it's horrible how small those little containers are that they stuff the bettas in. Half of them are already lying on the bottom or on the top...it's kind of depressing.

You did a good thing speaking up in the first place. Hopefully, someone will take pity on her and buy her. Good on you.

I am going to try and head over their today. I need to get my moms b-day present anyways.

Recently Wal*mart is using big cups for their bettas even the girls.

I got my Betta from Miejers. And the containers that they came in were sooo small. they looked.. soo.. small.. its sad like you can tell it from the look on there faces. So i saved mine from such a some container and then got her a bigger one. ..Kinda like fishy abuse.

Its not 'kinda' fish abuse. It is fish abuse. But they are ment to be temperary confinement although most ppl don't know that.

I got her She is pretty stressed and her fins are pretty torn up but other then that she seems fine. I am accumilating her right now.

That's awesome you got to bring her home! That little girl owes her life to you. I hope she heals up quick!

Oh my, she is indeed pretty beat up! Thank goodness you were able to go back and get her so that you can nurse her back to health. Best of luck and keep us updated on her progress.

Aw, good on you for taking her on! I think you posted about her at UB too, and I was hoping you'd find a way to sneak her home. Here's wishing her a speedy recovery!
