I'm just so excited! I got my 5g fry tank set up, so let's hope some of them make it. Wahoo!!

Yay! Well done spotting them, I havent seen peppered fry in my tank until they got to at least an inch long, and once one got to an inch and a half before I found it. Parents are very good at hiding the eggs and the babies are just as sneaky!

Congrats I currently have 10 fry off a platty. They are two weeks old. 9 of them in my fry tank and number 10 is so evasive I've left him in the main tank. Every now and then I see him when he is feeling brave. Need to think of a name for him I think lol

This is the third round of eggs, with the first two yielding no results. When I came home from a short holiday, the cory started laying eggs (the tank temp had dropped to 70ºF) so I just waited for a day to make sure they were done laying. The red eye tetras then spotted the ones on the glass and started munching on them, so I took my pennywort with a bunch of eggs all over it, uprooted it and put it in my net, then suspended it under the filter stream. Then poof! There were babies swimming in the net yesterday! I counted 6 when I dropped them all into the fry tank. Now, of course, I can only occasionally see one darting in the tank.

I THINK these are peppers, because that's the one I saw laying eggs, but honestly it could be green or longfin pepper or trili (unlikely as there's only 2 in the tank.

Thanks for the good wishes!! I'm really hoping they make it.

All 6 are still going strong! PLUS ... I found another several bunches of eggs in the 55g, so it's likely cory eggs. I could only see one viable one, so I scraped a bunch into my little net and suspended them in the fry tank. I got up this morning and there was a nice healthy fry! So I let him into the tank with the others. It would be so cool if it was a delphax, but ...

I'm so glad I found a way to save these eggs! I'm just hoping they keep growing.

Well done & congrats on your new fry :good:

Keep up the daily w/c on the fry tank and they'll soon grow

Keeps the water quality good(surprising how readings can spike) also doing small w/c's encourages growth in the fry has they release hormones into the water, which may stunt their growth :)

I'm surprised at doing daily water changes with a cycled filter. But I did do one today, and I think I held my breath the whole time.

Even with a cycled filter the readings can spike with the extra feeds the growing fry have...also keep the bottom clean from uneaten food :good:

I use the water from the parent tank whilst they are tiny, then use fresh dechlorinated when they're a few weeks old.

i have a albino corydora and would love to have a go at breeding hin or her thats the problem no idea how to sex them also have an empty fry tank doing nothing just now would love 2 cross pepper and albino

You can't cross breed like that...

My albino female is a lot larger than the males and when viewed from above is more egg shaped compared to the more streamlined males.
