I Got A Betta

i have been feeding them all the same food. its normally one day brine shrimp, next day daphnia, day after some wafers, and then betta man gets a pea.
I think i might feed the shrimp and snails after lights out and remove any left overs in the morning.

Ive read about overfeeding. When i got him his belly was all fat, and after looking at some of the journals on here i realised it wasnt quite normal. I was a bit worried he had bloat but it dissapeared after a few hours and only appears after hes eaten.

This fish HATES his picture being taken. He will pose and come over to see what your doing until you get the camera ready to take a pic and then he zooms off

but, i refuse to be outsmarted by a fish, and i managed to get a pic

this is a terrible pic but i wanted to show you his shiney bits

(sorry if i get these wrong haha), he has a really shiney light blue developing on his dorsal fin which you can see a bit of a flick of in the pic, and has light blue flecks on his pectoral fins that are really nice but you can only see them in high light. I think he is going to go totally shiney blue haha.

He and my other fish seem to be coming to an understanding. He swims around the outside of the tank and sleeps at the front, and they stay under the bogwood or in the centre.

He's lovely :) you could keep him in that tank you know, he'd probably be fine with the rasboras and snail

i am considering it. i was worried about him stressing out my rasbora  i have lost one fish before i got Jerry and was terrified i would lose another. the only reason i want to move him now is if my rasbora and shrimp breed. i imagine he would eat any babies that i may not notice

i moved him to a small plastic 'tank' i have to feed the other fish today and he immediately got stress stripes (first time ive seen them since he was bagged up on the way home from the LFS) and was SO angry with me. I dont think ill be doing that again. I think he enjoys his space a lot and i would feel terrible if i had to move him in to something smaller

Beautiful betta, very similar to my own with the multi-colouring.

I also love the idea of the terracotta pots! I've been looking for something for my own betta Jojo to make his own, and I love the idea of the pots. I think I'll try something similar, thanks for the idea! :D

np :)
i didnt know if i had enough room on the floor of the tank for a coconut cave, and i had these little pots left over from some plants that were sitting around doing nothing so i just superglued and tied them together with some moss on top. perfect :good:

i just got him to flare to a mirror for the first time. ive never been so excited in my whole life

the galaxys werent scared to come over for food today :good:

awww, i am so proud!I changed the filter and thought the tank would be very upset for a while but...

obviously not!
The heater is his new bed  I was tempted to take the terracotta pots out but i find shrimp poop in there so something is obviously using it.

he is changing colour aswell :)

he likes to play with the spray bar and likes his left side of the tank, whilst agro cherry barb generally stays on the right

If you sit in front of the tank he lies on the sand eye level and just stares, and if you move he follows
