I Give Up

I'm not sure what Pimafix is like lisa, im sorry, I don't really know much about medication, I just have some experience with melafix. it might be worth getting some melafix anyway sometime :dunno: just to keep in the cupboard, it's a very good broad spectrum treatment, very useful to have it.

I'm a bit scared of melafix, have used it in the past and it killed otherwise healthy fish in the tank. Same happened the first time I used pimafix, but I've used it again since (during the whitespot outbreak) and it worked ok. Have put some in my big tank last night, some of the fish are looking a bit stressy, but I bet I would if someone dumped a load of chilli peppers on me too *lol* I only used it as a last resort, as since I've done water changes and the salt content's gone down, the white lips returned on two of the rainbows. So much for the salt level not doing any good!

really? thats odd. never heard of that happening before. I always thought it was pretty much the safest med out there.

i think get the royal if he is exactly what you are after, and keep him in the 2 ft tank for a while, he will be fine in there, i have had my common plec ( he is only 2 in atm) in a 2 ft tank for a month now n he not stressed has plenty of places to hide n eats realy well ( i will also add hes bein moved to a 6 ft tank very soon i got another wk or 2 left of cycling it), but if is exactly what your after, and you dont take him youll probably kick your self later when you find out later he has been sold.
