Addicted and in Therapy
So today I did my good fishy deed for like... the year. After church today we were having a picnic type thing, as an "after celebration" for a childrens thing they had done all week. The kids play games and win tickets that they can turn in for prizes. At one of the booths they could win "goldfish tickets"... of course. This is the most popular thing at the whole picnic, as usual... was the same last year. Anyways, I was the one recruited to go bring the fish outside, and found a big ol' bucket of em... 100 I think. Little goldies under an inch - silver, white, gold, red, etc. I felt pretty bad for them, out there in the sun and gettin netted, so I offered my services. Got a plastic cup to catch them in, put them in ziploc bags with plenty of water, and then in a paper sack to keep them cooler and less stressed. Man, might I say I got really good at this?? B) I was actually catching specific fish for these kiddos, or getting three at one swoop. YEY ME. Also, we ran out of water and they were like oh I'll go get some from the bathroom. I was brilliant enough to have them go get some out of our pond instead. Green water... but it did the non-chlorine trick! I just am hoping that the little extra bit of care I gave these fish will allow them to survive for their sensitive little owners past the typical 2 day mark.
I also gotta admit..... I brought two home with me. ) There was a really cute one I had been eyeing, and I guess he was smarter than others, so he was still there in the 10 or so left at the end. Captured him and another friend, and now I have goldfish!! He is white with red on top, look like a koi... and the other is white with a little orange spot behind his dorsal. They're psycho scared right now... are most goldies like that at first?? Anyways, for those goldfish lovers out there, I have them in my filtered Azoo right now (which is betta cursed, so this'll work), which they will quickly outgrow, but will do for now. I'll find a new home for them when they get huge... unless I'm too attached.
