I really didn't want another Betta.
I really, really didn't.

I had far too many tanks as it was..

So, after a lovely trip into town, I popped into pets at home to look at plants.
I then wandered around to look at the various poorly kept Bettas.

And oh god.
Meet Chance.

:) Sorry - Can't embed the picture at this moment, will do that when I get home :D

He was being attacked by the tetras in the tank ):
He currently has no finnage, and isn't much of a swimmer.

But on the plus side, he's very soicable!

(Also got him cheap, due to 'Damaged: Parts Missing" LOL.)

I'm sure Change will thank you for saving him from a bad situation!  We demand more pics!

Poor thing!  That is a prime example of what other smaller fish can do to a betta if they decide to.  I am sure that you will be able to heal him up in no time.  He looks pretty from that view.  Can't wait to see more pics of him.  :)

Thanks for the positive comments!
:)

Not sure if its just because he's got not finnage, but he can't swim to the bottom of the tank (He couldn't do this at the store either.)
Stomachs perfectly fine though :)
He's a speedy little thing haha

He might be suffering some swim bladder issues if he was picked on that much.  I would fast him even though he doesn't look chubby for a day or two and keep him really warm.  I would expect to see some improvement with him being able to swim to the bottom of the tank.  He looks clamped in addition to having torn up finnage so watch that to make sure he relaxes his fins as well.  He is a pretty boy and I can't wait to see how he looks as he improves.

Shall do :)
He's a great little character though. He doesnt lose balance like Oliver luckily. He zooms around the top of the tank like I dont know what :p

That is a great sign!!  Should recover quickly with that kind of attitude.

My daughters betta is the same color. Very cute nice save. He will look really nice soon.

I have a very hard time going into a pet store and not getting a fish. Bettas are the hardest to say no too because they are so cute and full of personality. The poor things are always in dirty tiny cups so we need to save as many as we can haha. No betta lover is ever happy with just one don't kid yourself.

Back 10 years ago my hobby was to save Walmart betta fish. I got one that's fins were just as bad as you little guy, mine had a even shorter tail. His fins never fully grow back they were too damaged. But they healed up well and looked good never perfect.

I do hope he recovers enough for there to be some finnage :) As I have a good idea how he might look if he hadn't been attacked.

Give him a little revitalizer tonic and keep his water clean.
He should be on the road to recovery in no time :)

There's a betta I so want to nab also,
He never got bought and I have no idea why he was super pretty
A penguin tetra got in with him at the LFS and tore up his fins
He still hasn't grown any back
And Caius has pretty much doubled his in the same time
Just shows what clean water does

Well done for saving him, out of interest what did they charge you for him?  I would have asked them if I could have had him for free but then I am cheeky, just ask Mamashack ;)

I hope he gets well for you.  Do you have some IAL's in with him?  Another product I got for Bob was Betta Spa by Ocean Nutrition which may also assist in his healing.

I agree with Wildbetta that his fins looked clamped so there maybe something internal going on for him too.

Can you tell us a little about his tank setup?  Does he have a plant or something to rest on?

Good Luck with Chance, look forward to seeing him in his full glory as he heals.

The original price as £5, But I got him for £2 (Should have been free in my opinion, considering the state.)

I dont currently have any IAL.
He's in a 30 litre tank, with gravel, plant, heater and filter. He can rest in the plant - but chooses to rest against the side of the tank for some reason.

Tried feeding him this morning, but he just swam away from the food. He must be hungry by mow, is there anything I can do?
