I bought a Pea Puffer Carinotetraodon imitator. It's not listed in the PUFFER POST. Any one know anything? It's fresh waster mini-mini puffer.

If by 'matting' you mean 'mating'... and they produce fry, your little puffer will never go hungry......Jennifer_R said:two matting rams!
Thanks! I've already seen him pick at my Cory’s! Puffer Man! I'll puff his *ss from out side the tank - com'er! (HA-HA) I still like him; he sits under the plants and moved hit tail and eyes about. So little; so cute!Pufferpack said:Hi Jen. Congrats on entering the wonderful world of puffers
Carinotetraodon imitator is basically the same as Carinotetraodon travancoricus (or Tetraodon travancoricus), there is still debate on whether they are a seperate species or just a variant, but for all intents and purposes they are the same fish.
Depending on the personality of your individual puffer, you may have trouble with the little gaffer going after the other fish's fins. A quick look at some of the other posts about Dwarf puffers should answer any questions you may have.
...my wife used to chase our Dwarves with the net handle when they picked on her Gouramis (when we first got dwarves we were told they work well in community tanks )...the puffers started to make a game of it. I swear they would wait for my wife to enter the room and then latch onto a gourami's tail and go for a ride, as soon as they saw her heading towards the tank with the net they would line up to play "jump through the hoop" ...looked like they were having a blastI'll puff his *ss from out side the tank - com'er! (HA-HA)
Well, I came home from a motorcycle ride just now, and I saw the Puffer sneek up on my oldest Cory and nip his tail. Puffer turned to the other two Cory's and the Cory's scattered before the Puffer got near. Then the Puffer just turns and swims back to it's "hole".Pufferpack said:Sounds like a perfect back up plan, your little puff-man would be pleased as punch to have a 5 gal all to himself.
You waited a grand total of 14 minutes.. You need to be a little more patient and not worry about keeping your topic at the top.Jennifer_R said:BUMP!
I've read a little on the Dwarf Puffer. I will keep an eye on my puffer man, and if he get's too nippy, I will move him into a solitary 5 gal talk. I wouldn't know what else to do with him if the Puffer is too fish fin destructive.
How's that idea; if the Puffer gets that bad?
