I agree but I would like to just have a few fish to begin with probably around 6-10 small. I think im just slightly put off by the aquael as it looks very cheaply made etc or is it a huge advantage for the extra 30 ltr?

Bigger is a big advantage :good:

The number of times people join as beginners and two months down the line are buying bigger tanks...you couldn't count 'em lol

Oh wait...that was me! :p

I have the ArcTank 60 litre and it is a nice little tank, but it is not suitable for medium to large community fish (in other words, for most fish that one will normally come across at an LFS).

If you tell us which species you want to keep, we can tell you if the Arc Tank is big enough.

If you need ideas for what *can* be kept in it, then look at http://natureaquarium.co.uk/?page_id=278

You can still have only stock a few fish but the larger the body of water, the more stable it'll be which in turn makes your life easier. 30 litres doesn't sound a lot on paper but it makes a big difference in your fish's well-fare when it's in practice :) The more stable the water conditions, the less large a water change you'll have to do and less often. Even more so if you stock real plants which I believe you mentioned in the other thread? Bigger is always better, even if you only have a few small fish. Not only is it better on your time and well-fare reasons, it gives you more options where fish stocking is concerned :)

i have the 2nd tank you mentioned, the 90l

look in my journal for pics of it, brilliant tank, chuffed to bits with it
