After suggestions/opinions for improvement :)

IMAG0106.jpg

Current stock:

10 Cherry Barbs
1 Betta
1 Flame Dwarf Gourami
7 Rummynose Tetras
3 Lemon Tetras (7 more coming this week)
5 Dwarf Neon Blue Rainbow's (5 Parkinson Rainbows coming this week)
1 BN Pleco

Mixture of real/fake plants
3 bits of wood
Fluval 405 + Fluval u4 filtration.

I would definitely get more plants and more dwarf neon rainbows instead of Parkinson's rainbows.

It looks like you have a mixture of live and fake plants? If the Anubias and Java ferns are live, make sure the rhizome is above substrate or tie them to wood. Also if you haven't done so already, take off all lead weights and pots off live plants and spread them out a bit.

It's a good start :good:

The fern is on the wood, what's the Anubias?

Possibly more Neons coming...depends. I did have 10, but gradually 5 have died. Don't know why...I think my current stock takes me about right up to the top of what I can have, so we'll see.

Any suggestions on what plants to get??

Very nice tank.

With a big, deep tank like that I'd be looking to add plants with a bit more height. Giant vallis perhaps, to reach the top and then float over the surface. I also think it would make a wonderful rainbow tank, ie exclusively rainbows, all different types. Nice stock though none the less. :good:

Very impressed :good: , Be nice to see some more pics when your plants have matured.

Keith.

I think a backing would be nice....would make the fish a bit more secure too.

I thought the same thing too. Think i'm just going to go with a plan black one tho. I did originally buy a 3d, but it didn't fit :(

The one at the front, centre-right with the round leaves might be.. look on the internet for some photos and compare :)

They're fragile, once you have more plants, they will have a much better chance of survival.

As for stocking, how big is the tank? From the photo looks huge!

I would add more Hygrophila at the back :)

+1 for background, I prefer to use plain black.. my Flickr account has some photos if you want to see (link in signature).

It's only a 323ltr, so it's not massive. But plenty big enough!

Black background is definitely on my list of things to get, I just think it'll make everything pop. Thanks for your suggestion on the plants :)

Bah, what's bigger than anything I've ever had in my house. Yes, it is big for a home aquarium. (But, I have actually cared for much larger tanks through work!) Even this stock would work very easily:
10 cherry bars
1 Betta
1 dwarf gourami
15 rummynose tetras
10 lemon tetras
10 Dwarf Neon Blue Rainbow's
1m 2f BN Pleco
1m 1f Bolivian rams or 1m 1f keyholes or 2m 6f cockatoo cichlids

Really? I was going to the rule of 1 inch per 1us gal, on an 85gal, approx 40 fish....

Well, inch per gallon is not really that accurate a guideline.. but you should not get more fish than you personally are comfortable with either :)
