How?

True! I really hate this camera. My sis gave me hers( it's pink!) but i cant find it. It's supposed to be a "better" camera.

thanks! So bascially:
Take pic's far away( using fill), and then crop to make them closer to see the fish?

That's the idea, but with only 3.2 Megapixels you won't be able to crop in very close before the photos look too pixelated.

SLC

you think?

top pic is only 20% of the original. and though the camera was 6 mp, it still shows cropping, even on lower pixel cameras is not really a problem. except of course for those who cant do it. this would allow a 50% cropping of the op's camera. not only that, but the original crop, only saved a 1mb size, has several steps of zoom before the pixcelation is a problem. i rarely use more than 60% of any image it take, as i don't have a good macro setting. i still get decent prints at 8x10, and they make 6x8 that are indistinguishable from the full image. Gimp is a free program, and wholly capable of producing edits that challenge Photoshop images, so cost is not a problem for a good editor. admitedly i use photoshop, but that is because that's what i learnt editing on.

I dont know how to edit. All i can do is crop and get rid of red eye.

lol dont worry, cropping is "editing", well actually the major part of editing. all the rest will come, if you wish to learn. if you let me know what software you use, i will track down some sites that offer help and tips for that software. but in the meantime take a look at this one.
http://www.photonhead.com/photo-editing/techniques/
editing is now accepted as the major part of the photographic process, and though those who think of photography as owning and talking about expensive bits of optical or mechanical gear, as it has always been, may disagree, any photographer worth their salt would not.

I use what ever my computer somes with.
that is where many of us start. ms paint is the first thing most people use, i guess that's fine for adjusting the size of your pictures, but its not really designed for editing photographs. cameras often come with editing software, these programs are more aimed at the photographer. it may be worth downloading Gimp for windows: http://www.gimp.org/windows/ . this is a very good program, and popular with quite a few people, so there are a few places to look for instruction: http://ashishware.com/GIMP.shtml . getting to know your editor, is as important, perhaps more, as knowing your camera. so its worth you playing with the program, and finding how the most used features work. it would be best if we were able to frame and compose the shot with the camera, this however is not always possible. these types of program help us save or create an image that may not have come out as we wished when we took the picture. if you have the time and inclination the possibility's are almost without end, and it is quite possible to produce pictures that would not normally be within the range of the cameras most of us use.

thanks. I'll see what i can do, if im allowed to add a photochop type thing to the comp, as we have a rstricted pass, and i need my dads okay and number to add something on the comp!
