Sometimes I'll notice my betta, Hank, is resting oddly or he's bumpy in weird places, and sometimes he bends in a z shape even when he's not getting ready to jump. He's pretty active and I don't really think he's visibly sick, but I am kind of worried. He has this slight twist to his tail that kind of looks like one of his vertebrae is loose and then the rest continue straight. I haven't been able to get pictures, but I also don't notice it all the time.

The first day I got him I had trouble getting him into his too small tank and accidentally dropped him on my dresser. I quickly put him in the water and, after thorough research and digging, decided that he would be fine and thought nothing more of it. Is it possible that something's off with him, and if so is it threatening?

As a side note i came in and he was resting on the gravel. Since he was sluggish at first before swimming as normal I'm gonna assume he was sleeping, but usually he doesn't lie down until every light is off, and even then not always.

I was just looking at him closer and I've noticed other things off about him
-he has red scar looking things on either side of his face, though they're not oddly placed and the one on his right is bigger. These may be old as his face closer to his gills have always been oddly textured, I hope he's never been in a fight
-this morning he had one odd black scale in an expanse of blue, but now he has two separate (he just went through a color change so I'm less worried)
- it may just be that he's trying to have red coloring, but some parts along his fins are almost flesh colored if you look closely, which is weird because he is entirely black and white and blue
-since his color change he's had slight markings that make him look almost ruddy, like an old brick wall. It may just be the odd slightly darker scale here and there though
-since I've come in the room he's been lying down twice, and he's swimming around the bottom looking for a good spot to lay now. This is worrying because the onset of his last unknown illness caused him to be exhausted

Please excuse an anxious noobs worries, but after how sick he was I don't want to risk him going through it again as last time almost got him.

Could you post some pictures?

This picture kind of captures the weird bump in his stomach. I got another one of him bending but that was just him turning away from the camera

You can also kind of see what I mean about the scar on his face and his reddish coming in

I cant see the scar, but I do see the lump. Not normal. @Colin_T may know what it is.

Are you meaning red coming in on his tail? That could be normal coloring coming in

I agree, it might be his normal colour coming in. My betta, Candy, lost some of his white patches no both of his sides and he's got some blue scales coming in.

Yes that is what I mean for his tail. In case of his lump I hope it's not anything serious! Has anyone seen something like that before?

I havent, someone else maybe has
