Buy a Pleck? they're great at stripping algae :) Otherwise you could possibly use the lighting less?

Buying a plec is usually a bad idea, as the most common ones you find in stores will get too large for most tanks.
However there are alot of smaller plec species if you are interested.
Plecs will not live on the algae in the tank alone though.

When you say algae growth on the plants do you mean real plants or plastic? :)

theres many factors that affect algae growth can you tell us a bit more about your set up.

what size is the tank
what lighting do you have
do you have any real plants, and roughly how many
what are your water stats
do you add any fertilisation for the plants
what do you have as a substrate
what fish do you have

just advising to add a plec isn't a great idea, there's a lot of different varieties and man of them get far too large for an avergae community set up.

it may be advisable to add an algae eater of some form but it depends on the set up what is appropriate

i would put lots and lots of real plants in the tank. fast growing stem ones. to start with cabomba if your tanks pH is under 7 and elodea if its over pH7 these will compete with the available nutrients and knock back the algae

That very much depends on what specific plec. There are a few that don't grow very big at all, but many grow very large, unsuitable for all but large tanks.

yup there's really only 1/2 sorts of plecs suitable for a 10g tank, and it's highly unlikely you have room for 2 in there, post a pic of them in the plec forum and get an ID then you can decide if they are suitable for your tank or not.
