How To Make A Diy Co2 Kit

Hmmn, if i ever buy anything else from them, i will add that to my list. However, its not very DIY is it :p Nice Find. :good:

Seems a bit daft to buy a product like that with two outlets and then more than likely have to seal one up with silicon, that's surely exactly what you are trying to avoid by getting it in the first place.

My CO2 diffuser came from Malaysia in double quick time, I'm making my CO2 setup tomorrow. Does anyone see a problem with using superglue as a sealant instead of silicon?

Depends if the superglue releases any wierd stuff into the air that ends up the tank. Personally I would avoid it.

Superglue is brittle also, so might not last long. Not sure if there would be any reaction to the CO2 also? Might be worth checking ;)

I wouldn't use. Don't think it is upto the trick. Hot glue gun might be good, if you can get a good seal.

I think it would need to go on pretty thick, sometimes it doesnt stick so good to plastics and comes away from the edges

Keep me posted if you use it. I might pick up some glue sticks 2mora.

I would just buy a small tube of aquarium silicon for £1.50 or whatever it is in your local pets chain store. You can use it again. just have to pull out the dried stuff at the top first.

48 hours is recommended. 24 hours is good but I only waited 2 hours with no probs (but I did use the hoseconn as a nipple over a washer and a bolt inside to hold it all tight.)

Now back to Marillion.

hi i got a 10 litre bottle to make my diy co2 in how long will thsi last hopefully longer then my2ltr that ;asted around 4 days and also what mixture of yeast and sugar shall i use in the 10 litres of water? i would like to set it up today as rite now infact ill be making the hole in my bottle lid plz answer back asap

as stated in your other post. it will last no longer it will last the same but produce more CO2.

The question is not how long will the solution last as the answer means nothing.

The question should be 'how long before my mix starts to produce less CO2 (inconsistency). The length of time the mix will keep producing CO2 is not the length of time you want to use the mix for. As soon as it slows down it should be replaced so that you can maintain consistency.

So forget the 'how long will it last' questions. you need to change it before it slows down, not when it is nearly stopped.

Reallllllllly late reply, but i used a hot glue gun to seal my tubes to the bottle cap and the good news is that it works. The bad news is that it starts chemically melting after about 2 months and it looses the air-tight seal. When i buy some aquarium safe silicone, i'll try that ;)
