Hello,
I have an extremely skinny Rainbow Shark always sulking around the bottom of the tank. He is really skinny compared to the pictures of fat ones on the internet. I fear that he is not receiving enough food. Whenever any loose food gets down to the bottom, I see that the Rainbow Shark looks at it, but then completely ignores it.

On the other hand, i do not want to put too much food in that it pollutes the tank.

What kind of food are you using. If its just flake food not as much will sink to the bottom so if I were you I would try maybe a pellet food just for him that will sink to the bottom right away. When I had my rainbow shark I know he really liked the frozen bloodworms too, just make sure to thaw those before you put them in. Its not good to put a frozen chunk into the water, its possible a fish might choke on a large chunk then. The other thing is that if he's acting lethargic and refusing food he might be sick. if thats the case document his actions and post to see if someone could tell you what might be wrong with him. I hope I was able to help. Good luck!

Hey, I have tried shrimp pellets, but I stopped after I just saw them sit there on the gravel deteriorating away. I walked away for a couple of minutes and went back, and they were still there, so I am a little wary about doing that again. I don't know if he got to them or what happened. I don't think my rainbow shark even went near them.

yeah catfish pellets are good.

i had this problem, i didnt think my Julii Catfish were getting enough food so i bought these pellets and they love them..
