I count them all once every day or couple of days, and spend at least an hour watching them every day (time I should be spending working or studying! Sorry teach, the fish ate my homework!!!) The neons are little beggars though, they never stay still, and one always hides in the plants just to freak me out! I didn't see one of my plecs for a couple of days and ended up taking the tank apart looking for his 'body' - ended up he was asleep behind the filter and very peeved to be disturbed too! My cats are getting really jealous, now they come up to the bench near the fish tank and demand attention when I'm there fishwatching, so all three of us frequently sit there watching the fishies, and every now and again one of the cats takes a flying leap at the fish and splats against the glass and slides down.... sooooo funny!!
