Usually twice a day but they haven't been eating so I cut it back.

I usually feed twice a day for mature cichlids and 3 times a day for juvies. I only feed 6 days a week when mature.

Depends on the fish. Small fish (ones under 3") i feed twice a day, usually with some flake in the morning and some live or frozen in the evening. Larger fish i feed once a day and predatory fish i feed a big meal a couple of times a week.
All tanks are fasted one day a week to allow the filters time to catch up with the bio load.

I would say that depends on

• Size of the tank
• If tank is planted and has lots of surface for algae and micro-organisms
• Stocking level... fish volume/tank volume
• Size and type of fish
• Kind of food

For example, generally it is better to feed smaller amounts more often, since this is what a fish would experience in nature. But if you have some fierce competition in your tank, feeding that way would only make the fastest/strongest fishies happy. Unless there is only one kind/very similar fishes we need to dump a little more in so everyone gets fed.

Oh yeah, I feed my fishies about 4 or 5 times per week, with red and white frozen mosquito larvae, live daphnias, zucchini, peas, sinking "wafers", and/or flakes. My African Butterfly fishes eat flies, earwigs, butterflies, little fishies, and crickets, every other day.
