What type of salts are you talking about?

Water Conditioning Salts for hardness, etc? or Aquarium salt to raise the salinity/treat disease?

Also, i doubt 30 gallons would be enough to house both angelfish and disucs. They're find for say a breeding pair of discus (with no other fish) or an angelfish in a community but discus need to be kept in groups (if they're not a breeding pair), no if's and but's about it.

Another possible problem with keeping discus and angel together, descirbes by Cheese Specialist in another thread that you should be aware of, if you wen't already

Many say that angels and discus should not be kept to gether because of a dormant parasite/disease that is on the angel naturally but will attack and kill discus.

Angel fish and discus tank that is only 30 gallons Could you please post what you plan to or already have stocked the tank with, that sounds a little worrying.

Angel fish, Discus, and all freshwater fish do not need salt in the water, and having it constantly in there is going to cause problems for the fish (especially with delicate fish like discus). You should only add small amounts of salt as directed by the label (only use salt specifically labeled for being good for freshwater fish).

I just checked your signature, and I don't know if you plan to get a bigger tank in the future, but you have way to many fish in your two ten gallons. The cichlids will most likely all grow big enough so that the tank will be literally stuffed with fish, an in the guppy tank if the "pleco" is just a common pleco, he will most likely grow gig enough to encompass the entire tank (if he can live for that long).
Although I realize it's the last thing you may want to do, you should either use your new 30 gallon to redistribute some of your fish, and also take several back to the store.
No offense to you, but I doubt you would be ready at this point to take care of discus, or even angel fish, in a tank that small.To beginners, at not only keeping delicate fish, but in general, I would say you should not have discus in anything less than a 100 gallon, with the best possible filtration money can buy, just so you can have the biggest margin of error possible.

I'd have to agree with all of the above

Sorry, but your existing tanks are/soon will be very overstocked. A 30g high would be nice as an Angel community tank (no tetras though) but IMO you would find you encounter a lot of problems if you try and keep Discus & Angels in there. As mentioned Discus are very delicate fish and are very suseptible to bad water quality which in a 30g will be quite hard to avoid without substantial filteration & regular PWC's.
Some will say no Discus in a 30g at all but that's where opinion comes into play, my friend has a 30g high which he has 3 Discus and some tetras and I have a 56g which will have 6 - 8 juvenile Discus to start with. Everyone will say something different as the is no real right answer only advice gained from experience but unless you are prepared to put the extra time and effort into looking after Discus I would stay with Angels.
