How Much Did Ur Tank Cost U?

Things are so much cheaper in the US!

It can be but it depends where you look. Since getting my tank for £50 (roughly $100 for a complete setup) I've since had 5 tanks for free (one with everything, heater fileter light etc, ) from looking hard enough. Theres a thing called freecycle (don't know if anyones heard of it but google it and you will understand). 2 of these i have kept and 3 i have given away to friends.

My parents paid for most of mine

20g including heater, filter and decorations- $100
55g including heater filter and decorations- $300
5g Betta tank including heater, filter and decorations- $70
all in one Mirabello tank, that I dont use anymore- $250
6g all glass tank by itself- $40, with heater and filter- $70

The rest are quarantine storage tub set ups

ormnaments, maybe $40
All fish about $150 (no rare/expensive fish though)

I only really work to get more fish stuff and new tanks.....bills shmills, rent shment.

I have a simple rule about that sort of thing. It applys to both my overpriced hobbies (My other is classic 60's Mopars) I am NEVER NEVER allowed to add up the numbers on cost... EVER..

that being said... I'm sure $5000 is a low guess on the pricetag for my current 300 gallon set up.

And I actively refuse to think about what I have already spent gearing up for the reef tank...

10 gallon: free (freecycle.org)

My husband's:

26 gallon - approx $225 (petco.com)

Is that including shipping? That would be my fear purchasing a tank that I had to have shipped..... at least, with Freecycle, I can just go the person's house and pick the darn thing up. Good thing my hubby is strong.
