How much Chlorine / Chloramine in your water

In Nanaimo the regulations are for drinking water allow a range of Chlorine between 0.2 to 4.0 ppm.

The input concentration is as high as 1.75 ppm but the average is 1.3 ppm. It is important to note that this is the input concentration and can be considerably lower at the tap.

The real issue is that the rate Chlorine is added is adjusted for seasonal differences, for example right now it would be higher.

I have to treat my water, but have known people who use slow but continuous water replacement who do not treat the water.

Our water is ultra filtered as well which reduces the GH and KH.

Well if the neighbors go bald or my fish get hairy, I'll get a little concerned.
As for us, we only drink bottled water.
Also, I culture Red Russian Daphnia. Daphnia are very sensitive to water quality and are sometimes used to test water for quality (like canaries in mines). Since they flourish and reproduce in my well water, I have to believe it's OKAY. :)
