How Many Thorichthys Aureus?

I have a 4' 260 litre tank with 13 Ilyodon xantusi, and 4 hoplo's and 2 spotted raphaels...how many of the above beauties should I have? I understand they prefer to be in a group so assume they are peaceful(ish) with each other...I figure 4-5 would be a good number. Would it be better to just go for one male in the group if possible?

Any advice much appreciated as I want to order soonish; these fish do not seem to be that regularly available (if indeed the stocklist is up to date!)

Thorichthys can be pigs in groups. You will find it hard to sex them also. You will probably be better off with 1. Lol.

There fine in a group till they pair off. I had 5 elliotis and once a dominant pair was formed I had to get rid of the other 3 because they was constantly bullied into a corner and just chased for hours on end. If you could get a group of the same sex maybe that might have a chance of working out but they are very hard to sex so definitely getting a group of the same sex will be very hard.

Thanks guys, I was figuring that once I have a pair the rest will go to the LFS...he has already said that he will take them and give me credit...I think he is OK with the idea as they are not a regular stock item for him...

Wildwoods had some (buy online)...however I decided not to go for them in the end, prefering a group of Lake Kubutu Rainbow fish instead! Trouble is there are so many fish I want I keep changing my mind

I have excellent experience with Wildwoods postal delivery of my fish and can recommend them on that basis...good luck with the hunt!
