looking to get this tank in January from my dad, however he can’t remember how many litres it is and there’s no label saying such thing, anyone had this tank before or could make an educated guess as to how many litres this holds, cheers

what are the dimensions?

roughly you could try
length x width (the 2 back pieces not the front piece) x height in cm
divide by 1000 = volume in litres.
Then divide that by 2 and you get roughly the contents of a triangle tank. However, it will be a little more than that due to the funny front bits.

Get him a normal rectangle or square tank so you can work out the volume more accurately.

Looks like a juwel delta 300 to me, capacity of 300l. There are calculators online for this kind of shape.

To get closer

Subtract from above calculation the following:

(depth from diagonal [far left to far right corners] to front in cm) ^ 2/1000

e.g. if the depth from diagonal to the front is 20 cm and depth is 45 cm :

(20 x 20) x 45/1000 = 18 L

Subtract 18 L

An easier measurement that should provide the same result is to subtract the following:

((depth of short sides in cm) * 0.707) ^ 2/1000

This is easier to measure but not as geometrically clear
If the depth of the short sides is 28.3 cm:

((28.3 cm x 0.707) ^ 2) x 45 / 1000 = 18 L

Subtract 18 L
