How many fish do you have?

20+ danios
12 tiger barbs
3 SAE
1 bala shark
1 syno eupterus
1 red tailed black shark
1 flying fox

But once I transfered the bala shark and the danios in the next tank, Ill get 3 clown loaches.

i have

2 mollies, 3 swordtails, 2 guppies, 2 angels, 3 platies, 1 red tail shark, 1 pleco (not sure what one) 2 cories (not sure what ones). will add a bettas tomrow which i really look forward too although pretty scared it might kill other fishes...

my tank is really small but as i have only had it for 3 weeks the fish are small enough for it at the moment.

What the heck are you talking about?

I've never heard of anybody getting bettas to watch them fight (well, not in UK or USA certainly) and the most obvious reason for somebody getting 18 bettas is that they are breeding or showing them.

And then rambling on about people's hair colour...? Well, to be honest, I find that quite offensive and sexist (regardless of your particular gender).

There was a brunette, blonde , and a redhead.. The 3 of them were stranded in the desert, and they were looking for a way to get back home. So the Brunette thinks, GREAT 3 wishes! The red head wishes for all 2 of her friends and her to be brought back home, but the geenie couldn't accept it. Geenie: You can only wish for yourself "individually". So the Red head wishes for herself to be taken home. "poof the red head disapears" Now it was the Brunettes turn, she wished the same "proof the brunette disapeared. The blonde starts to get scared, she feels lonely and knows this is the last wish and her friends arned there So she wishes for her friends to be brought back. (poof) her friends get brought back and the geenie is gone ! That was hilarious

WTF are you talking about? I would have to agree with AlienAnna & say I find your post quite rude, offensive and sexist. I'm blonde, so what? What does that HAVE ANYTHING to do with this topic? Yeah allusive, I'm from America, check my deatails, I'm not a blonde, I don't think blonde jokes have anything to do with "How many fish do you have?" Or, "Tropical Chit Chat" so loose the jokes along with your ignorance. Sure some people have betas and fight them, but as you would say, "good for them." OR "who cares" Just because some people fight betas doesn't mean that she is automatically 1 of those people and is going to automatically fight all 18 of them. When I first say that she was getting 18 betas (and probably most poeple) I knew exactly that she was going to breed them not fisht them. Usually peopel who really want to breed betas and have a lot of offspring(sometimes to sell to pet stores) get a whole bunch of them (18) so they will have a lot of fry.

I have received some concerns regarding this thread, and as moderator I am empowered to do something about it. I don't mind a good debate and I agree some debates do sometimes get heated. This debate however has seemed to have lost it's momentum and like a cluster bomb is spreading into non-relevant areas.
Whilst I don't wish to be seen as censoring a particular subject, when I receive complaints that go into areas of victimisation, harrassment and prejudicism. I must intervene. Please if you wish to debate, keep it to the subject in hand. I am not pointing fingers at anyone, all I'm asking for is some civility and due regard for other viewers to the forum.

Anyway here is my take FWIW...............

Allusive was simply asking a question and offense was taken which mushroomed and blew this all out of proportion!!!!!

I can't tell you how many times people have asked me "how many fish/tanks" I have....only to ridicule me or call me a liar because of the answer!!

Well I don't take it personally because I can understand how the answer would be hard to believe for some!!!!!

They usually apologize or go on their way when I provide them with pics!!

As for the fighting betta thing.........Yes it does happen....more than you may think.

One of the shops I sell fish to has a group of buyers that they refuse to sell their bettas to because they feel these people are fighting them!!

Anyway....chill out when someone asks a question as they are really only trying to find out the answers!!!!!!!!!

Oh....and to answer the original question.............

We (my wife and I) currently maintain over 110 tanks totalling over 3500 gallons. We have several tanks totalling hundreds of gallons sitting in "dry dock" awaiting set up and have several more in the hundreds of gallonage range on order!!

As for numbers of fish...well that varies from week to week. If we have a good week selling than the numbers are down, but if it is a slow week the numbers are a little higher.

A good average tho is anywhere between 1000-1500 fish per week!!

All of these tanks are in our house!! Hard to believe is'nt it???
