How Long Will It Take For Bn Tail To Grow Back?

Hi guys

After a bit of a fight over an algae wafer my BN got the end of his tail ripped off. I'm treating the water with Melafix and doing regular water changes. How long do you think it will be before it starts healing/grows back?

with good conditions it should start to heal straight away - you'll see a pale almost hazey area of tail as it grows back - just make sure that is what it is though and not fungus or something nasty like that.

I don't think it is fungus as can't see anything on the tail, it's not even frayed. It looks like the end has been torn off. I noticed it 20mins after dropping the algae wafer in the tank. I doesn't appear to have got any better though, not that I can tell anyway. I hope he gets his lovely white tip back. I will try and get a pic later so you can see what it looks like.
