Just wondering how far you would go for the hobby? I once went without lunch at work for a week to save to buy Phosphate remover!

I also sold my complete Star Trek DVD collection to fund my new tank.

We moved house to fit more tanks in and sold our dining table and chairs to fit yet more tanks in. We had our fireplace put in off centre to fit a tank in the living room. We sold our TV and replaced it with a flat screen to make more tank room. We're moving house again soon and are only considering places with lots of tank room  it is the first thing we think of when viewing places. We're also paying for a conversion of my parents garage so I can have the 7ft tank I need  . Oh and I sold my lovely new car and bought a rubbish old one to finance our new tank (which is still not built  )

There is more but I am too embarassed to continue

pretty much the only essential criteria for our next house is concrete floors

I have not had lunch for the last year and a half so that i can pay for my tank.

Only if you could get money from bagged lunches somehow and survive not eating lunch while running 40-50miles a week I just might be able to do that. :shifty:

I shoveled 1.5' of snow off roofs, driveways, and got people un-stuck for a night and a day to get the supplies for my tank, with a shovel not a snowblower, total of 20 driveways or so. :good:

I rearranged a surgical schedule to be home for a coral and fish delivery. SH

Amen, I've taken days off, and re-arranged experiments to be home for delivery before, and I may have to do so in the future for the mantis :)

Kudos to all of you. I read this forum exclusively because of the Nano section and dedication of the people posting. I'm truly humbled.

i had sold all my malawi breeding set ups to invest in marine keeping. at 1 point i had 7 3ft breeding tanks and a trigon main tank. i know its not the ultimate sacrifice but i still miss my malawi.
