How Do Your Partners Feel

yep whats wrong with showing off how much i have. I'm proud that my parents work hard.
the fact that this is a FISH forum not an xbox and how many tv's people have

here you are rated on what fish youi keep and how large ur tanks are and by that standard i imagine you to be rather low

and to keep on topic,
my parents love my fish, i got my tank from my dad as he used to keep africans in it before he upgraded to a huge marine reef tank.
my gf loves my fish and while i was out once sat waiting for me playing with my mayan for ages. hes very personable and trys to attack everyone.

trying to convince my gf to get her dad to sell his stupid 3 goldfish in an awesome 75g tank and get some decent tropicals!

so i dont really have any problems with my parents/gf

Sorry.....-cry cry-

Thanks so much i'm trying to learn but its hard to get everything i don't tihnk that your that perfect anyway by saying that.

Lucky for you.

Peter i know but they know i wouldn't do drugs lol.

Their slowly giving in to my "please" and cute little faces - slowly but i' still getting their.

Oh and i'm going as a cowgirl to a fancy dress party today - just thought i'd say. :good: Can't wait :hyper:

I look weird but hey. Plus i know bout the label on hat its new.

My other half hates my hobby and it gets the blame for high electric bills, taking over house, taking up much of my time, making too much noise with the sound of running water, the list is endless, but i'm addicted to cichlids and addictions need to be fed.
The plus side is he takes such little notice of whats in the tanks that he doesn't notice the population growing lol.
Just trying to work out how i can another 6ft tank in the fishroom without it being noticed. Tryed the softly softly approach but he wouldn't budge.
regards Angel

i cant believe your other half complains about the running water, its natural and i cant sleep without it now =P

Wow Jess you look amazing! And I think its great that you are proud of your parents.
But back on the subject, my husband thinks Im a freak for being so into my fishies, and my boyfriend just laughs and lets me get on with it. And before you ask, yes my husband has been ditched finally lol!

I find it best to avoid having a partner, then you can do what you like, when you like, however you like :D

My fiance loves them and thinks it's cute that I love this hobby. He used to have fish but can't now because he moved. He loves going to pet stores and looking at everything. I told him that he can pick some fish out next time.

after reading all these posts (except the non fish related)i feel lucky my partner shares my passion for fish :D

So do I. I found the post about getting males involved with power tools highly amusing

But my mom hates it. I had to move my 20 gallon to where her computer is, because my room flooded. She said "why is this ugly thing in here?" She said that about my Asian upside down catfish, I think she is quite pretty. Too bad I have to get rid of her :\ My mom won't let me get another 55 gallon.

My OH doesn't mind that up until recently I had 9 tanks running! He loves watching them and says it sends him to sleep (good thing as there's a tank in the bedroom too  ).

He likes that I let him store all his car tools in the dining room along with his jump bike, but when I decided I want to go marine, it took ALOT of explaining about the cost of some of the tanks I was looking at  Mind you, how he can mention that when he just bought a new PS3 and a fair few games I'll never know. I know he sold his cruiser bike to get it, but I am shutting down some tanks and selling some fish to fund my new marine set up

he is a good un tho...he drives me to the LFS - even gets bought free kebabs by the owners while i'm spending my money - and he bought me my brackish tank for my birthday this year :D

My better half told me last night that I needed to clean the tank. While on one hand I'm happy she pays the tank enough attention to know it needs a cleaning. (Week after week of seven twelve hour shifts does not get one in the mood to spend an hour on a cleaning and water change) On the other I'm not sure I'm happy that the "you need to clean" demands now include my tank.
