hi all, i am about to breed kribs and i need to know how to feed my fry

is brine shrimp ok to feed them, what brand is best for a good size batch of baby brine shrimp?
or will i just use really crushed flakes and liquifry no.1?

whats the best idea?

I'm no expert and I don't have any experience with Kribs, but here's a good link for you to look at. http://www.fishinthe.net/ArticlesandWallpa...e_kribensis.htm

I usually find that-with dealing with livebearers anyway-whatever you feed the adults will appease the fry so long as it's small enough to fit in their mouth. Sometimes, if I have to leave town for the weekend, I will drop a pellet in the fry tank and let them gnaw on that while I'm away if I find nobody to take care of them for me. They seem to do fine, I suppose Kribs would be much the same, but only experts would know. Good luck with that large batch of young coming your way! =D

I found the krib fry would nibble on whatever the parents had to eat - otherwise some crushed sinking pellet (use good quality ones) worked fine. Liquifry I have never used - no real need.

So probably brine shrimp is my best option thanks

I'll use pipette to shot out baby brine shrimp to the fry

LOL I think you are making work for yourself. You should find they are more than capable of finding food with a little guidance from mum&dad.

I think im makin work for myself too  , i just wanna make sure i am a good fry owner and they benifit from eating good food :)

If I were you, I'd buy them at your lfs. Even places like Petsmart carries it. I don't know if you would want to buy it online, since It's supposed to be frozen and all.

I use first bites for the first couple weeks, then i just use crushed flake food also live baby brine shrimp are good food for fry as well.

I was just wondering since i dont think my lfs stocks frozen baby brine shrimp, would ordinary frozen brine shrimp work sorry 4 asking too many questions

too big. I know you can buy a tub of decapsulated brine shrimp eggs and either feed like that of hatch and feed for about £4, can't remember the make though.

They probably do carry it. I have not been to a lfs that doesnt carry frozen food. It's either out in the open, or you have to ask a worker about it.
